Michael Colbert loves coffee (his favorites are Costa Rican and Ethiopian) and horror films (his favorites are Candyman and Silence of the Lambs). He is currently an MFA candidate in fiction at UNC Wilmington, where he also teaches creative writing.
His writing appears or is forthcoming in Southern Humanities Review, New Orleans Review, Avidly, and Kyoto Journal, among others. He graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in Romance Languages and has translated from Italian to English for such writers as Francesco Verso and Davide Camparsi. Born in Massachusetts, he has also lived in Maine, Rhode Island, Italy, and Japan.
